Khakee service dress uniform trousers, WW2

One of my latest sartorial acquiries is a lovely vintage tailored pair of full cut khakee service dress uniform trousers; made for a Lieutenant Curtis.
Ideal for off duty pursuits; matched with a sweater or a sports coat.
They are really well made;high waisted and beautifully swung hems.
Such trousers are quite affordable and a good alternative to cavalery twill or corderoy. These trousers are from gentleman outfitter Hogspear; acquired at a mere price of £10.

Beautifully cut hems

The khakee trousers matches the Fair Isle sweater and paisley cravat

High waist

Very comfortable high back

Sunday brunch at 'Varna' mansion; Morning Stroller Suit.

My wife and I had our Sunday brunch at the 'Varna' mansion in the outskirts of Aarhus; next to the beach and the woods.
The old mansion was build in 1909 and has ever since been a popular place to visit on Sundays; combining a walk in the forest and a stroll at the beach with coffee and nourishments at the restaurant.
Before the war steam boats sailed alongside the coastline and also docked here.
The name 'Varna' is believed to come from the former proprietor of the lands: Baron Christian A. Gersdorff. Varna is Bulgarian for "Beautiful view" which is quite appropriate for this place. Baron Gersdorff served in the Tsar's Black Sea fleet and thus frequented the Bulgarian port 'Varna'.

I wore my vintage 1935 Morning Stroller suit with the 1920s Eton pop society  waistcoat.

We enjoyed a magnificent brunch and a grand view of the sea
The weather forecasts turned out wrong in our favour; a break in the pouring rain allowed us to have a stroll to the nearby beach.

For the stroll I added the Homburg, chamois gloves and spats

Afternoon Tea at Perch's Tea Room; Prince of Wales and spats

My wife and I had our Afternoon tea at Perch's Tea Room in Aarhus today. A.C. Perch's is a Royal Purveyour of teas since 1835 which have established Tea Rooms in Copenhagen and Aarhus. They offer a wide range of quality teas and serve a traditional Afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, petit fours and scones with clotted cream and lemon curd.
We had a very pleasant afternoon in the lovely Tea Room.

I wore my vintage 1955 Prince of Wales glen check flannel suit, a white shirt with a detachable collar, black Cheaney & son brogues and grey vintage spats.
I love this time of year where the flannel suits are out of the wardrobe and I get to wear spats in the city.

My vintage grey spats have lovely MOP buttons
I like the clean look of spats hiding the laces and breaking the contour of the black shoes
